Ghee | 1 tbsp |
Oil | 1 tbsp |
Groundnut | 2 tbsp |
Mustard seeds ( Rai) | 1 tsp |
Urad dal | 2 tsp |
Curry leaves | 10-12 |
Onion | 1 |
Chopped Ginger | 1 tsp |
Tomato | 1 |
Salt | 1 tsp/ As per taste |
Coriander leaves | 1 tbsp |
Step by Step Recipe
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a frying pan.
- Add 1 cup hi-life sooji and toss at medium flame for 5 mins. Keep the preparation aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a frying pan.
- Once hot add mustard seeds, urad dal, ginger, chopped onion, curry leaves and toss over medium flame for 5 mins.
- Any seasonal vegetables like carrot, peas, beans, corn can be added if available to add extra flavor.
- Add chopped tomato and salt and sauté for 2-3 mins.
- Add the roasted sooji to the preparation.
- Add 3 cups of hot water, while on a low flame with continuous stirring, till water dries out.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and fried groundnut.
- Serve it hot with coconut or coriander chutney.
