Whole wheat phulka made from Family Favourite Atta

The unleavened flatbread and the a must to have component in a north India plate. Better known as chapati or roti and made with whole wheat.

Water1.25 cups
Ghee1 tbsp

Step by Step Recipe

  1. Take the atta in a deep bowl, make a well in the centre and start mixing water part by part.
  2. Begin kneading the dough along with adding water in the mix.
  3. Knead till the dough becomes soft.
  4. Make small to medium sized balls of the dough.
  5. Flatten them with flour on the rolling board. Roll it out with a rolling pin.
  6. Put the roti on a hot tawa and let it cook on one side (approx. for a min) and then change the side.
  7. Once it starts to puff, take it off from the tawa and hold it with a tong directly to the fire.
  8. Spread ghee or butter on it.
  9. Serve them directly or keep them in a casserole.
